Enterprise youth explore careers, develop workplace skills, make connections and put their knowledge to the test through our job placement programs
From graphic design to banking to city government to social media to nonprofit careers- Enterprise spans 35+ career options that youth can explore through our nationally recognized, award-winning program.
We partner with a diverse group of businesses and organizations including Kaiser Permanente, First Republic Bank, SF Made and the offices of several City Supervisors to provide youth with career exposure and experience in a professional environment. Youth gain hands-on experience, make connections, and acquire skills while working with professionals in a field that interests them. Youth receive a generous stipend at the successful completion of the program. This highly competitive, seven-week internship program is available during the summer and during the school year.
“This program gave me the guidance that helped me gain job skills. I was able to get a retail job and three internships which included working at UCSF ; I take a lot of pride working there and it has given me a new gateway of opportunities.”
Retail internships, Gap Inc.
Enterprise partners with Gap, Banana Republic and Old Navy to offer summer internships. Interns develop strong communication, time management, team work and customer service skills through this twelve-week program that begins in the summertime and extends into the school year. Gap Inc. pairs youth with store staff and an Enterprise staff coach to ensure their success. Interns frequently accept post-internship part-time employment and many remain employed as they work their way through college at San Francisco State or City College.
Junior Caddie Program
Enterprise partners with the Olympic Club to offer youth this unique opportunity to work outdoors on summer weekends at the prestigious Olympic Club golf course. Youth hone their communication skills and develop a strong work ethic as they rise early to make 7AM tee times and learn about golf, course maintenance, and golf etiquette. This program is open to all Enterprise members in 9th – 12th grades. Program participants who have completed two summers of caddying are eligible to apply for one of 250 Chick Evans Scholarships covering tuition and room and board at twenty prestigious colleges and universities. A number of Enterprise youth have been named as Evans Scholars at universities including Northwestern, the University of Oregon and the University of Washington. Youth who have completed their junior or senior year are also eligible to apply for the David Rawson Memorial Scholarship. The Rawson Scholarship is granted annually.
“I became a member of Enterprise during my junior year in high school, and it was such a great experience! The workshops and the practice interviews were all really helpful, and all the people who work there are so motivated and committed to what they do. I got a job as a junior caddie at the Olympic Club, and that was one of the best opportunities I’ve had yet. Enterprise rocks!”
