The Youth Council’s purpose is to train a small group of Enterprise members to be the youth voice of Enterprise for Youth. The Youth Councilors gain communication and leadership skills by participating in twice-a-month workshops, providing a youth voice to the staff and Board of Enterprise, and completing one group service project for the Enterprise community.
Through a variety of fun, interactive meetings, Youth Councilors will:
- Gain leadership and public speaking skills
- Help evaluate Enterprise programs and services so they include youth perspectives
- Work as a group to plan and complete a service learning project for the Enterprise community
- Receive a $500 stipend upon completion of the program
“Youth Council is a very meaningful program that gets students involved in their society. It brings students and adults together to work on social issues. Youth Council also helps students learn leadership skills, event planning skills, communication skills and public speaking skills. This program changed me as a whole, into a new and improved person.” – Youth Councilor, 2016-2017
