Congratulations to our 2021 Career Exploration Internship Graduates!

We had 49 youth from the San Francisco Bay Area complete their 4-week job-readiness training and Career Exploration Internship. Having a big group made our graduation ceremony at Golden Gate Park extra special as this was the first time we all got to see everyone in person. The energy in the park was buzzing as youth gathered to eat delicious Vietnamese sandwiches, showed off their new Enterprise t-shirt, and took rides on the Ferris Wheel.

The Career Exploration Internship offers youth job-readiness training and career exploration through resume and cover letter support, career panels, and virtual office tours. In addition, youth throughout the San Francisco Bay Area gathered together for large group activities and had the chance to work in small groups to connect with other youth from different schools. During the 4-week summer internship, interns built skill sets that can be used in future internships and job placements—such as time management, communication, and teamwork.

Program Assistant Interns, Cameron, Pamela, and Gordon, receive gifts for being such a big help to the staff this summer.

For most of this year’s Career Exploration interns, this was their very first job experience. As a result, many learned new skills or sharpened the skills they needed to succeed in future internship opportunities with Enterprise for Youth. One of our Career Exploration interns, Myeva, captures the sentiments of this year’s interns when she says, “This internship was a great experience and was definitely worth it to keep going. I’m thankful that through this program I was able to learn and grow as an individual and share ideas with my peers.”
