Corporate Volunteer Opportunities

Enterprise for Youth offers companies the opportunity to volunteer as a team with high school-aged youth in support of our mission to empower under-resourced San Francisco youth to reach their potential. We offer several ways for employees to give back to young people in the community. We are seeking in-person engagements at our downtown Career Lab or at your office location. We have found that shadow days, tours or career panels are incredibly beneficial to our youth. Visiting different types of workplaces exposes our San Francisco youth to a variety of career options they may not have considered before. This can help them explore their interests and passions and provide valuable insights into potential career paths.

Corporate Volunteer Opportunities we offer:

  • Mock Interviews (Interview Assessments)
    • Volunteer Needs: Number varies based on size of workshop group
    • Commitment: 1 to 2 hours on a weekday afternoon at your office or at our Career Lab in downtown San Francisco
    • Description: Conduct 1-on-1 mock interviews with youth with an assessment form for notes and feedback. At the conclusion, they’ll write a self-reflection and you’ll give them feedback on what went well and what could be improved for next time!
  • Career Panel
    • Volunteer Needs: 5 to 8 volunteers
    • Commitment: 1 to 2 hours on a weekday afternoon, either in person or virtual
    • Description: Throughout the year, we have specific panels that cover specific topics or industries (green careers, healthcare, tech, business, etc) or that celebrate heritage months (African American professionals, Latinx, Indigenous peoples). Volunteers rotate through different breakout rooms of 5 – 10 youth, answering their questions about panelists’ careers and professional journeys.
  • Customized Workshop
    • Commitment: 1 to 2 hours on a weekday afternoon, in person or virtual
    • Description: You’ll work with our team to create a customized experience tailored to the unique skills and abilities of your company/organization for our youth to enjoy and learn from! Past topics have included: Financial Literacy, Careers in the Trades, Nature Walks, AI and Marketing

Individual Volunteer Opportunities

Enterprise for Youth seeks individual volunteers on a rolling basis for our youth programs. Volunteers can support by conducting mock interviews and informational interviews, providing feedback and edits on resumes, or conducting professional development workshops including cybersecurity or financial literacy. Volunteer opportunities are primarily held at Enterprise for Youth’s Career Lab in downtown San Francisco or at high schools throughout San Francisco.

Our work is possible with the support of partners like you. Sign up to help give youth opportunities to feel empowered, uplifted, and hopeful in their personal and professional futures.

– Angel Luo, 2022 intern at E. Armand Bedrossian DDS Inc.

From this internship, I have created close, professional relationships with the supervisor and the rest of the team. Dr. Bedrossian had offered to have me back next summer or potential break to shadow his father’s oral surgeon practice. By expanding my views on potential dentistry specializations, I will be able to not only create long-lasting connections, but also be a well-rounded dental student candidate.

– Haven Wertman, 2022 Climate Career Corps intern

My internship made this summer unforgettable. Being able to meet new people, see new things, and get out of my comfort zone has helped me mature for the better. It has allowed me to learn an important lesson from coworkers. The lesson is that we aren’t supposed to know what we want at this age, so be sure to experience many different things to figure out what path to take. That was the most important thing I learned.
