Private Collections: Art and Stories in Support of Our Youth

Private Collection has returned! On September 14th, six generous collectors opened their homes in support of Enterprise for Youth. The evening offered intimate tours of unique private art collections in San Francisco, with anecdotes and histories presented by the collectors themselves.

At the Masterpiece Collection of Dr. Seth L. Matarasso, guests were treated to an exceptional collection of some of the most important artists from the 19th, 20th, and 21st centuries. Patrons were also hosted at The Lisa Dolby Chadwick Collection, The Clammer Family Collection at True Wind Capital, The Felson Collection, The Alison Pincus Assemblage, and The Silverman/Thornton Collection. After the tours, guests celebrated together at a party and silent art auction at Simon Breitbard Fine Arts. We are deeply indebted to our collection hosts for their warm hospitality.

We are grateful to our Private Collection Co-Chairs, Stephanie Breitbard and Alison Pincus, both of whom are champions of the important work of Enterprise for Youth. Stephanie has served on the Private Collections Committee for ten years and sponsored the event for almost as many. “Private Collections is an opportunity not to be missed – guests can see some of the most amazing private art collections in some of the most beautiful San Francisco homes, AND it’s all for a good cause.” Alison adds, “Every dollar raised directly benefits the young people who gain so much from Enterprise for YOUTH.”

Enterprise youth are always at the center of our work, and Private Collections is no exception. We employed Enterprise youth as Co-Hosts at each tour. Youth graciously welcomed the guests and shared their personal experiences with the Enterprise program. The event is an opportunity for youth to network with our community members and to hone their professionalism and presentation skills.

We offer our thanks to you, our generous community; this year’s Private Collections raised over $63,000! These funds support Enterprise for Youth’s mission to empower under-resourced youth in need of a leg up in the workforce.

In addition to our generous co-chairs and collectors, our Host Committee helped spread the word about this year’s Private Collections. Thank you to Jarrod Baumann, Clayton Bishop, Mary Lou Castellanos, Krista Coupar, Krista Giovara, Jeff Holt, Jay Jeffers, Kathryn Lasater, Caroline Scott Low, Stephanie Zimand Plexico, Victoria Richardson, Allison Speer, Gioi Tran, and Kirsten Wolfe.

We are grateful to our event sponsors: Coupar, Jay Jeffers, Kendall Wilkinson Design, Jones Family Vineyards, Simon Breitbard Fine Arts, and Gustavo Perez Photography
