“Why I Chose to Donate… Opportunities for all Youth”
Choosing what to focus on in college is no small feat. Enterprise for Youth helped Carmen Ng explore her options, find her focus, and pursue her passions. Having access to unique opportunities like our Job Readiness Training, Career Exploration Program, and our many paid internships sets our young people up for success and helps them carve out their career paths.
When Carmen first joined us, she was a 16-year-old high school student unsure of where to start with her career. After polishing her resume and interview skills and working closely with Enterprise staff, she earned her first internship at Old Navy headquarters. “During my internship at Old Navy, I found my fascination for marketing.” Wanting to pursue her newfound spark, she went on to work with the local San Francisco business, Jenny Lemons. Working directly with the founder, Jennie, cemented Carmen’s interest in marketing and entrepreneurship.
After her internships, Carmen wanted to give back to the Enterprise community and work on her leadership skills by joining our Youth Council. She enjoyed creating a podcast and sharing her experiences to help fellow students navigate high school. “I met some of my closest friends at Entreprise for Youth. I strongly believe that these opportunities should be available for all youth, which is why I chose to donate.”
Because of her time at Enterprise, Carmen is studying business economics as a first-year at UCLA. She hopes to continue to study marketing and entrepreneurship so she can learn the ins and outs of running her own business.
Why Carmen donated to Enterprise
“I donated to Enterprise for Youth as a way of giving back to the community that supported me throughout my last three years of high school. […] I strongly believe that these opportunities should be available for all youth, which is why I chose to donate.
