What started as a way to pay for Alice’s viola, blossomed into an enduring professional relationship that helped both Alice and her employer, Cornelia Hoppe, grow and learn. We chatted with Cornelia and Alice about how the Job Bank brought them together and what they learned during their time working together.

On June 29th, I was able to join the Career Exploration interns as we welcomed the panel of Enterprise program graduates who are also former and current Enterprise Youth Council Members. Our presenting guests that day were Lindsey, Gordon, Lamiya, Elizabeth, Katalina, and Jefferey.
Green Careers Grow at the Golden Gate
Summer 2021 has been an extraordinary time of growth for the Enterprise for Youth Green Career Internship. A large part of our growth is thanks to the partnership Enterprise has created with the National Park Service and Golden Gate National Recreation Area Team at Fort Mason.

Intern Highlight: HIT50 Medical Terminology Interns!
This summer 2021 marks the second year of Enterprise programming to support youth with an interest in the field of healthcare as they participate in the Medical Terminology course offered through City College of San Francisco. As a returning job coach (after overseeing this internship in 2020), it was my pleasure to work with not only a new group of youth participating in this program this summer, but the addition of two fantastic Program Assistants, Guadalupe (Lupe) Peña and Elaine Huang.
An Amazing Healthcare Panel Visits the Career Exploration Program Youth

Congratulations to our 2021 Career Exploration Internship Graduates!
Congratulations to our 2021 Career Exploration Internship Graduates!
We had 49 youth from the San Francisco Bay Area complete their 4-week job-readiness training and Career Exploration Internship. Having a big group made our graduation ceremony at Golden Gate Park extra special as this was the first time we all got to see everyone in person. The energy in the park was buzzing as youth gathered to eat delicious Vietnamese sandwiches, showed off their new Enterprise t-shirt, and took rides on the Ferris Wheel.
Youth Empowerment Through Chocolate
This summer we partnered with twenty-seven organizations and businesses in San Francisco for our External Career Exploration Program. These partnerships have granted opportunities to 46 young people to work this summer doing what they love best: being creative, engaging in important work, and spending their summer learning new skills.
Heroes at Work – Planning the After Party
There is so much to celebrate after our momentous Heroes at Work event—seeing our youth shine and celebrating them for starting their exciting, interesting internships this summer.
Ceres Conference on Climate Change – Enterprise for Youth interns Share their Experiences
Through our partnership with Parnassus Investments, two Enterprise for Youth interns were able to attend the Ceres Conference where hundreds of institutional investors, corporate executives, policymakers, and regulators called for the urgent, necessary, and achievable actions we must take today to transform tomorrow. Learn more about their experience below.
Welcome to the Second Cohort of Program Assistants!
Last year we recruited alumni from our job-readiness training and internship program to help usher in the next generation of youth into their careers. Being mentored by those who have already gone through the program is an amazing opportunity since the youth will be exposed to Program Assistants that have already faced all of the challenges they are about to.
New Partnership – SF New Deal
Enterprise for Youth is proud to announce our new partnership with SF New Deal, a community organization that provides supportive services and financial opportunities for small businesses in San Francisco.
BATS Improv Lead Youth Council in Online Improv
BATS Improv team has operated as one of the top and longest-running improv schools in the Bay Area since 1986. Personally, I have always loved to watch improv comedy, and one of the transformational experiences of my college life was taking a course on improvisational leadership. I was excited to have our Youth Council, a year-long leadership development program for our young people, get to play and learn from them.
Partner Highlight – BiRite
Bi-Rite has been a San Francisco institution for nearly 80 years. Under the leadership of second-generation owner Sam Mogannam since 1998, we have embarked on a mission of Creating Community Through Food, striving every day to cultivate meaningful relationships with each part of our community, from our staff, to our guests, our producers and partners, and the environment.
The Importance of Telling Your Story
Being a facilitator with Enterprise’s Reimagine Internship has given me the opportunity to work with amazing Latina and Black women wanting to make changes for their own academic futures and professional lives. Every other Thursday is my favorite day as these young women have reminded me how important self-reflection, speaking your truth, and telling your story can be.
